We are moving to Facebook... Please come join us at RUBY Community Group we have all of the same groups that we had here. Since most of us are already on FB, this will just make everything so easy to access - one of the challenges of a separate community website is that it is often difficult to figure out and navigate. But with our community being right on FB, you will be able to pop in and connect with one another anytime you want, right from your computer or phone or other device.

PS The RUBY Community here on the Spruz platform will no longer be available after August 13, 2017 so be sure to join us on Facebook before then!

As an army wife, I am often asked how people can support us. Honestly there are many ways to support military and its families! I will start with the easiest. Prayer! Our soldiers, our leaders, and the families really do appreciate the prayers. Next if you know of a class or if you homeschool, soldiers love getting mail from anyone to encourage them but I think its always cute when its from kids. Donations are always needed and accepted! When soldiers are coming back from deployment, single soldiers go back to the barracks. They are kind of like dorm rooms, but empty. Family Readiness Groups try their best to fundraise so that their troop is coming back to what feels like home. 10 years ago we were given sheets, pillows, towels, washclothes, snacks, baskets, decor, etc so that these soldiers came into a room that was not bare. Each deployment it gets harder and harder to raise the money or get the donations to have these waiting for them. If you live near a military spouse, surprise her by mowing her lawn, dropping off milk, bread, and eggs a day, offer to babysit, etc. During deployment you are with the kids 24/7 so can't even run in for a gallon of milk without unbuckling carseats and having the kids tag along inside. It never seems like there is enough hours in the day or money in the budget to get everything done. You do yours and your husband's jobs (mowing, trash, oil changes, etc). Most families never ask for help and have a system so while things may seem a little chaotic or a little too scheduled, its what they have found is their deployment normal. I am apart of probably a hundred groups that are filled with military spouses supporting each other. I can tell you that when someone from the outside loves on our soldier and sends him a card or sees our family missing our soldier and sends us a note of encouragement, it means the world to us.
